The story of Dixie

Dixie Lou Binkley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She left this world suddenly on March, 23, 2021 at the age of 74. She was born to Mavis Williams and Paul Dahl on October, 4, 1946, in Sioux Falls, SD. She grew up in Martin, SD and Sioux City, IA. She met her husband Alan Binkley, and they spent 50 wonderful years together. They have 1 daughter, Kimberly Binkley, and two grandchildren, Anthony Valentin and Joshua Binkley-Weatherbee.

Dixie loved bowling and was an avid bowler. She worked in a bowling center, for many years, as the General Manager. She also loved softball and coached many of her daughter’s softball teams. Dixie loved spades and was even in a league online. She enjoyed trips, with her husband, to Laughlin. She was a bonus mom to many of her daughter’s friends and loved by so many. Dixie would say her greatest accomplishments were being a wife, mother, and grandmother.

Preceding her in death are her parents and her son, Todd Farleigh. Surviving family includes: her husband, Alan, Mesa, AZ; her daughter, Kimberly Binkley, Mesa, AZ; her grandchildren, Anthony Valentin and Joshua Binkley-Weatherbee, Mesa, AZ; her sister, Linda (Art) Baril, Young, AZ; brother, Jay (Melinda) Shapley, Mesa, AZ; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. There will be a celebration of Life on Saturday, May 1st 2021 from 1-3 P.M. Mesa East Bowl Conference Room: 9260 E. Broadway Road Mesa, AZ 85208. Lunch will be served followed by a balloon sendoff. Guests are asked to wear red in honor of Dixie because it was her favorite color.
